The owner of Fundamental Green, Cindi, has a long history of environmental advocacy. Living in Boston after college, she helped start two of the first recycling centers in the country. She also formed and led a neighborhood organization aimed at improving the quality of outdoor spaces by bringing community together to reduce litter. The group held fundraisers, distributed trash receptacles painted by local artists, and coordinated area cleanups.
Cindi has promoted recycling, sustainable practices, and conscious consumerism with coworkers, roommates, and family for years. Being environmentally conscious has become a larger pursuit since she became a mom of two little boys.
Protecting our children requires educating ourselves about the products we use. Phthalates, BPA, PVC, flame retardants, pesticides...these health hazards are sold to us in many children's products; being unaware means putting health at risk.
Dubbed "The Green Lady" by the program director of the local Brighton Recreation Center, Cindi offers courses such as "Cloth Diapering Made Easy", "Organic Eating on a Budget", and "Going Green at Home"
Cindi and her husband David have two young children with whom they practice attachment parenting, cloth diapering, elimination communication, baby wearing, co-sleeping, and for whom they take great care to use as many healthy and environmentally safe products as possible. They are members of community supported agriculture; make their own cereals, breads, dish soaps, laundry detergent, cleaning products, etc.
