To help you reduce your contribution to the waste-stream, we offer a missed recyclables pick-up program.
Many counties do not offer recycling for every product with recycling potential. For example, in Monroe County, the only plastics currently accepted are #1 and #2 although many foods and products are packaged in #5 and #6 plastics.
Many well-meaning folks include other plastic items in their curbside "blue bins" believing they will be recycled, when in fact what happens is they are later culled and sent to the landfill.
Fortunately, curbside is not the only recycling option. Several of the items our county doesn’t accept for recycling can be recycled elsewhere, but doing so can require taking them to specialized re-users, finding recyclers outside the county, and sometimes recycling in bulk.

Fundamental Green offers assistance in recycling items that are not on our county's recycling lists. Items like:
Batteries (regular and rechargeables);
Computers and other personal electronics;
Christmas lights.
CD's and DVD's (Coming soon).
Styrofoam packing materials (like those found in large appliances and electronics packaging).
Screw top lids.
Donations for shipping costs kindly accepted.
